bullet point  When you find peace within yourself, you become the kind of person who can live at peace with others.
     (Peace Pilgrim)

bullet point  A smile is the beginning of peace.
     (Mother Teresa)

bullet point  Meditation is not a way to enlightenment, nor is it a method of achieving anything at all. It is peace itself. It is the actualisation of wisdom, the ultimate truth of the oneness of all things.
     (Dogen)

bullet point  The simplification of life is one of the steps to inner peace. A persistent simplification will create an inner and outer well-being that places harmony in one's life.
     (Peace Pilgrim)

bullet point  Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the middle of those things and still be calm in your heart.
     (unknown)

bullet point  Never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and in a calm spirit. Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset.
     (St Frances de Sales)

The following quotation resonates splendidly with the Peace Mantra:
bullet point  Responsibility does not only lie with the leaders of our countries or with those who have been appointed or elected to do a particular job. It lies with each of us individually. Peace, for example, starts within each one of us. When we have inner peace, we can be at peace with those around us. When our community is in a state of peace, it can share that peace with neighbouring communities, and so on.
     (Dalai Lama)

bullet point  Peace is not the absence of conflict but the presence of creative alternatives for responding to conflict - alternatives to passive or aggressive responses, alternatives to violence.
     (Dorothy Thompson)

bullet point  Peace - An End

Peace is a word
Of the sea and the wind
Peace is a bird who sings
As you smile
Peace is the love
Of a foe as a friend
Peace is the love you bring
To a child

Searching for me
You look everywhere
Except beside you
Searching for you
You look everywhere
But not inside you

Peace is a stream
From the heart of a man
Peace is a man, whose breath
Is the dawn
Peace is a dawn
On a day without end
Peace is the end, like death
Of the war

bullet point  Open Your Door: by Jalaluddin Rumi

If you could only open your door
for a single moment,
you'd see everything and everyone
as a friend in your home.

At that moment, Jacob would see his son.
At that moment, the cupbearer of Union
would serve you God's glorious wine.

That beauty would show his face and say,
'I am the one who see you, who loves you.
Since you are open to my blessings,
you need no longer be afraid of anything.'

No one there feels jealous
of anyone else's attainments.
In the soul's garden, everyone is happy.

(from 'The Forbidden Rumi': translations and commentary by
Nevit O. Ergin and Will Johnson)

bullet point  Be happy in the moment - that's enough. Each moment is all we need - not more.

(Mother Teresa)

bullet point  We have been delighted and encouraged to read the many positive reactions to the website, and to the work we are doing. These comments have come not only from Cornwall and the UK, but from many parts of the world. The following comes from a lovely friend living in Prague: the message itself reads like a prayer:-
Dear Friends of the heart, I have explored your beautiful website. As I went to all the different links I felt my heart growing larger and larger, and felt waves of love entering my heart and also being sent out from my heart. Dear friends of the heart, May you be blessed in the beautiful work you are doing. Your lovely website brought about a deep exchange of waves of love and peace. May the whole planet be wrapped in such a mantle.
      (Arjunada Vitos)

bullet point  Let us see every person in the world as our sister or our brother.

There is no essential difference between any religion, any culture, any colour, or any country: all are equal.
When a problem occurs, let us at once try to find an effective solution. By studying and analysing every aspect of the problem, we can gain a true understanding of it; this helps to prevent it happening again.

Forgiveness is a basic characteristic of peace.

     (Abdul Halim, writing from Damascus)

bullet point The candle of peace is within you

     Find it
     Nurture it
     Become One

     Your deeds will inspire others,
     Fanning their inner flame.
     Together we form a beacon.
     Peace on Earth.
